Accepting a glass or two of champagne in an appropriate setting says, "Thank you, I appreciate your hospitality."

Drinking the cabin out of fizz every time one flies says it's okay take advantage on someone else's dime, or let's just say it, could be the sign of an untreated alcoholic.

With sophisticated software able to match up online activity with who one actually is in real life more and more—with that data actively up for sale—I'm not so sure it's all that smart to admit to financial tendencies or problems with alcohol so openly on the internet.

A case in point: There was a case a few years back concerning a slip and fall incident at a supermarket here in the States. The company alleged the victim was partially at fault simply due to a few bottles of wine showing up on the purchase history of his supermarket loyalty card. They were successful in establishing a sense of doubt of if the victim was in full control of his faculties at the time of the accident, even though no sobriety test had been done at the scene.

Drinker beware.
