To the 'Apathy Club" - why the fixation with champagne?

a) for some it is aspirational, associated with luxury
b) for others it's celebratory, a way of marking a special occasion - even if, like me, that just means a few well earned days off. A G&T just doesn't cut it in the same way.

But I tend to drink less champagne when flying. Partly because of what the bubbles do to your insides when in a pressurised metal tube at 35000 feet Mostly because I prefer non dosage champagne, which is hardly ever available.
