Do you have any advice on booking this route, in order to minimize layovers or cost, or possibly both? We are primarily Asia Miles user, but we're flexible with anything.
Right now, the best route that we've found is pretty horrendous:
CGK - HKG -JFK, JFK - LAX - HNL, HNL - HKG - CKG, booked with a combination of AA / CX
Er, how did you come up with this routing?
Is this buying a ticket or are you using miles? If buying, what is your budget?
When is this for?
Depending on the season, you can get CGK-NRT-NYC-LAX-HNL-NRT-CGK using JL and AA for a total of $ 1811 incl tax. But seats are limited of course for this fare and based on seasonality.
PS - If you're not using Asia Miles, then this question is best moved to Oneworld forum.
