Nah, we were specifically talking of Membership Rewards from American Express ; Orbitmic was saying that they could be used as cash equivalent.
I had always thought that the only way to use MR was to transfer them to one your FF accounts. Hence preventing them from generating miles.
In fact, the T&C of Amex France are clear : "
Pour obtenir toute Prime liée au programme de fidélisation d’un partenaire, le Titulaire principal devra non seulement être membre du programme partenaire en question, mais avoir également transféré ses points Membership Rewards sur ce programme. ". i.e. MR points must FIRST be transferred to the fidelity programme of the partner.
Maybe MR T&C outside France are different. Orbitmic, are they?
Other Credit Card points are a different issue.
