I'd die for mine, too. Just took it as my sole device for a 4-day trip and found it perfect in every way. $249 gets you 12 GoGo WiFi passes and 100GB of free Google Drive storage, so after the business expense deduction, the thing came out to be essentially free. Battery life is great, very thin and light, wonderful keyboard. Sounds like it's not an option for the OP though... it's not Windows (it is essentially just a Chrome browser), and is 11-12 inches, not 13. Also has no optical drive.

Closest thing I've used that meets the OPs specs is a 3-year-old Dell Vostro (12 inch screen) that is still humming nicely. Great battery life, but not very light for its size. And for its time, was fairly pricey.
