Advantage in buying J tickets?

Hey all,

I've been checking some flights to DXB in Dec and Jan (need to go and come back twice). It seems I can get a business class ticket for around £1300 or I can get a WT+ and MFU to CW for around £800 give or take and 20k miles.

I'm new to flying BA frequently, so I've hit Silver in two months. Given my flying patterns, it won't be long before I hit Gold.

So I was wondering, aside from the additional TPs and Avios, is there any real benefit in booking a Club ticket from the offset? Is there still a £100 change fee for date changes?

This £1300 price disappears in Feb and goes up to above £2k. Just wondering if I should take advantage* of this fare?

Cheers,
Asif

*I can't believe I'm suggesting paying £500 more for a flight could be considered advantageous!
