Something similar has happened to me now 4-5 times, I believe it was "oth(er)" instead of status platinum. It was when:

- I had connections on a non-Skyteam partner (Tam from Sao Paulo onwards)
- I was flying to the US (I do not have ESTA in the system as I have a work visa)

Edit: When I had the the connections with Tam, I was unable to OLCI. But all 4-5 times status was recognized, also included a upgrade because Y was full on FCO-Ams
