I recently had a shorthaul flight out of T1 and the lounge (ex-BMI) was so far from the gate (other side of a very sprawled out terminal) that there was no possible reason or incentive to use it.

Why do they operate a lounge so far away? Why can we not share the El Al King David Lounge until things normalise?

Grateful if anyone can shed some strategic light on this...
