As I came through security, I see a line (about 20) Asian FAs (guessing it is a 747 or A380), all in matching cream coloured uniforms (lots of rainbow coloured accents though).
The impressive part is that, they walk in a single line, every little detail is identical: stockings, highheels, the single carryon, the purse even down to the smile. All are slim and young (20s), following an older lead FA with a little flag. I have to believe that EVERYONE (male or female) in the waiting area noticed them as they walked through.
a) what airline would that be?
b) was AC ever like that?
b) I'm not old enough to have seen it but based on the photos of the past I guess yea at some point AC and other NA airlines did have requirements for weight, bust, size and looks of the FAs and dressed them in a more provacative manner.
However, as a society it seems like we have moved beyond discriminating aginast folks based solely on their looks, or at least appears so.
Yea, I too naturally prefer to look at pretty, young FAs than some of the aunties and grannys I get on AC, but at the end of the day I'd rather live in a society where at least I know there is more equality than in-equality.
The whole concept of having pretty FAs for middle aged men to oogle over is kind of gross IMO but I guess sex sells and that's the bottom line.
I agree though that AC could be more strict on making sure FAs look tidy and well kempt regardless of size, age and sex!
I wish I had a photo of the IC on one of my flights last year CDG-YUL with half of his shirt out of his waist the whole flight and frizzy hair that you would think he had just recieved an electric shock. Overall extremely unkempt fella.
