My logic is not wrong.
Some significant leg is full in the back. Even on lower fares, on complex itineraries they then price that leg in J. However the legs for which Y is available are priced in whatever Y bin you ask for.
Still, when pricing per segment, total adds up to more than discounted J based on an end-to-end fare.
I have seen this happening on other routes.
