I know the rooms at Park Lane are tired, but as long as they are clean, and the Plat breakfast is ok, I'm just trying to see if there is value in paying the extra 8K points.
Just got back from 5 nights at Park Lane, precisely because we didn't want to burn extra points for a room we wouldn't spend too much time in. The Plat breakfast was fantastic-seriously. Coffee, tea, OJ, full hot buffet (bacon, sausage, eggs, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, bread pudding, pancakes), and full cold buffet (5 cheeses, 5 deli meats, 3 types of fish, yogurts, fruit, some asian dishes, cereal, tons of types of breads, pastries, etc). It was an amazing spread.

The room I can't really comment on because it was our Honeymoon and the general manager was very generous in upgrading us to a great room. The room was very clean.

Moreover, the location of the Park Lane was very convenient to the tube. We were very happy with our stay. I think you should save the points and stay at the Park Lane.
