Presumably BA has access to numbers we don't have and has analysed them and come to a different conclusion vis:
-WT won't be sufficiently bad to lose the business of companies with an economy only travel policy
- They will be able to sell all the seats/ enough to make the flights economically viable
- The cost of the seats will be low enough for casual passengers
..and that in the LCC age economy travel is a price sensitive commodity. 10 seats across on beach fleet was a bad idea...but in a different air travel age.
EK has been packing them in 3-4-3 on the 777 for many years and still - somehow - have a reputation as a quality airline.
