No what usually happens with credit card reward points used to book flights is that the credit card company uses them as a cash equivalent and purchases tickets directly from the airline. Some even simply reimburse your cash expense by crediting your cc account (that is what several UK banks do). It is different from the possibility to indeed convert MR points into miles (possible as well) which then integrate the person's FF account with no possible accrual.
