Apologies if this has been covered but I have tried to figure this out on my own and I am still not certain what to do.
My wife is Germany and reads lots of books in that language, so I constantly bring her books from Germany to the US.
With her Birthday coming up, I thought it’s time to switch into the electronic age.
So the question is Kindle or iPad?
She has a Sony notebook for work, E-Mail, Browsing etc., also checks E-Mail from her iPhone.
Thanks for your help

If you're interested in just or mainly books a dedicated e-book reader in the ecosystem you've committed to (Amazon/Barnes & Noble etc.) A tablet such as an iPad or a Samsung Galaxy Tab will do e-books, but also other things. People generally say that it's easier to read an e-book on a dedicated e-book reader (Kindle/Nook, etc.) E-readers are generally lighter than multi-purpose tablets. The complaint that you cannot read them in non-lighted areas is moot now with both the Nook and the Kindle now available with various lighting schemes. Also dedicated e-book readers have much longer battery life than do tablets. Many people also find that reading e-books on a tablet tiring on the eyes and more so than a dedicated e-book reader.
