My opinion is you are being a bit tough on the OP. The "business class" product sold on shorthaul is quite disappointing. Yes BA has the similar convertible aircraft- and this is where the similarity ends. The continual cutbacks to the "business" product and particularly the absurd implementation of NEK which even takes away the closet to hang up a jacket leaves the OP with plenty of ammunition to complain about the hard product.

US legacy carriers are also not so amazing- just because one product is crap doesn't mean a competitors needs to be as well.
