As far as call centres (of any kind are concerned) I have always found BA to be very good, both BAEC (even at Blue level) and customer services/sales departments.
In fact they are a cut above beardy air's call centres who just tend to read the T&C's and other info off their website....????....
BA have always been friendly, when I have had to wait I have had an explanation as to why. Some have been quite chatty, others more serious and businesslike - but always professional (and they realise that I can read a webpage and just answer any questions)^^
