Norway's SAS division is the most successful one of the three. Norwegians travel more than Danes and Swedes, and SAS Norway generates more income than the other two. Yet, the central hub is in Copenhagen, and the management is now being centralized in Stockholm...
This all seems completely backwards. If SAS opened up more direct routes from Oslo, I am convinced the number of passengers would increase significantly. Currently, SAS doesnt even fly directly from Oslo to Madrid, and most long haul routes go through CPH.
Oh, it is an old tradition. The saying when I worked at ARN was that "SAS is run by the Swedes, for the Danes - and paid for by the Norwegians" :-)
