I know nothing about you or your +1, but I'm assuming it's sort of a romantic getaway on a bit of a budget.

My choice would be the Carlton Beaulieu in Beaulieu-sur-Mer. It's about a 15 minute ride from Nice airport, rather boutique-y, and located pretty much right on the beach. It was a Choice Hotels property up until a couple of months ago. I have personally checked the place out (didn't stay there, though) and it's very much like the photos show. They're still re-doing their website, but Tripadvisor has lots of glowing reviews.

The train is a 5-minute walk, and you can go all over the Riviera at very cheap prices - I think it's about 1 euro from Beaulieu to Monaco.

A quick check of the rates show about 100-150 euros/night, but you can probably do better with one of the various booking agencies.

Anyhow, we were planning on staying there next year on points, but I guess that option is gone for now. I would stay there in a heartbeat.
