There are a number of those scissor lift trucks around the apron with Omniserve on the side, which I presume they have to use if you can't walk up the stairs (never seen one in action though)
I'm glad to know that when I'm finally too decrepit to climb the stairs I wont go over someone's shoulder !
Probably make boarding a 777 or 747 quicker if they did that with everyone (ie scissor lift bus, not the fireman's lift
)
- going up the stairs was painfully slow (and very cold) -much slower than having to wait in the 'tunnel' with everyone bumping their rollaboards up the stairs one step at a time .
I know they have wheels but some passengers don't seem to know how to pick them up and carry them
