Double cancellation fees, if not Gold

I used to book my BMI redemptions as 2 one-ways (since they didn't let you change the return after the outbound was flown, unlike BA) but I gave up, because the £25 per person cancellation fees were effectively doubled if we had to cancel or move the trip. This outweighed the extra flexibility of booking 2 one-ways.
