CIBC Visa only covers up to $500.
Amex AP Platinum, Amex Platinum, and Amex Centurion cover up to $1000.
Based on my experience, these Amex all cover AP redemption tickets.
I always pay the scamcharges all my AP tickets with one of the above 3 Amexes. And I have used the insurances extensively. I have yet to have one denied claim.
