AF have their own L&F service at CDG where items found on the airline's "private properties" (planes, lounges, ticket desks) will be kept for 3 months. The database can be accessed by any customer care agent, so San Gattaro might want to give them a call. Only items found on Paris-bound flights will be stored there though. Anything left on planes landing somewhere else will be handed to that airport's L&F department.
My understanding is that if your email remains unanswered, it means the item was not found. If they have it, they will communicate your details to a courier company called "bagages du monde" who, in turn, will get in touch with you with a quote to send the item to you.
