My wife and I have shared a Marriott Visa account for years utilizing two cards (her's and mine). This has enabled us to both earn points and elite benefits (i.e. one elite night for every $3k of spending).

At this point earning miles is more important than nights, so we decided to order an additional Delta AMEX for her to use. Understood that after $25k in spending I'd get 10k MQM, but would her using the card under the same account allow us to both contribute to total spending?

I was told by the customer service rep that her card would have a separate number than mine, so with that I just want to ensure that both our spending will count as one.
