Unfortunately, it's not all gift cards. It's only for some stores, but most notably Amazon, Lowe's, iTunes, Sears, Regal, Applebee's, JCP, Macy's, Nike, Nordstrom, Groupon, Kohl's, Olive Garden, Staples. No gas companies make the list of participating partners. But if any of the above appeal to you, then this isn't a bad deal. I can get 6% cash bad with AMEX BCP, and I get 4x on gas rewards. If I buy $150 in Amazon cards, I get a $25 Vons voucher (good for purchases >$50) AND $0.60 off each gallon of gas for my next fill-up at a Vons location (or $0.20 off at Chevron for 3 fill-ups; either/or, worth $10 to me) AND $9 back from AMEX BCP.
