Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can help me with quite a specific question please... Myself and my partner are going to Dubai in January where we will spend a week, then onto SE Asia for a further two weeks before we return to Manchester (UK) via Dubai.

We were hoping to leave our 2 suitcases in Dubai with her brother (who lives there) while we go onto Bangkok, due to the backpacking nature of that part of our trip. Then we fly back from Kuala Lumpur and have 8 hours in Dubai before our onward flight to Manchester. I have a UK passport whereas she requires a Dubai visa. All legs of the trip are flying with Emirates.

My questions are:
- Will I be allowed to leave the airport during our return 8-hour transit in Dubai?
- If my partner checks in both our backpacks as hers from Kuala Lumpur, will I be able to return to the airport in Dubai and check in the additional 2 suitcases provided they weigh under 30kg in total?

If anyone can tell me, or point me in the direction of where I can find out we'd really appreciate it. Thanks for your help!
