Now, that some of the anger is gone, could it be that they are just saying it to get people to "bug off"? I mean, the case could be made that they want to continue to stall so people give up... this makes the KE cancellations seem like a walk in the park... I would sue US, just show the judge the main written rules, not this new piece of unwritten interpretations/information...

Well I think the rules are slightly ambiguous and we may need a lawyer to step in here. There are 3 conditions in the rule. Travel to, from, or within the US. This trip is definitely not within the US. It's definitely not from the US. So the only one left is "to". Technically it is a trip to YUL; however, it does have a stop in the US (PHL). Does that technically make it a trip to the US if there is a layover at a US airport? Or is the trip only "to" the US if the final destination is in the US?
