Your subject line says "two tickets", but your post only says "two flights". Of course it is two flights, and it may be two awards, but is is two records or the same record?
If it is two separate records, CX has no legal responsibility to help you make the connection or help you if you miss the connection. Try to get the two tickets linked by BA.

Checking in at LAX for both flights is helpful since that associates the two records in advance. Otherwise, as far as CX is concerned, you are originating in HKG for HKG-SIN, and if you don't make it, you just overslept or something and it's not their fault.

If there is no award inventory, and it's not their fault (separate tickets), then they don't have to do anything for you.
