Whilst not specifically a thread on the propeller aircraft, there is a thread ('sticky') on each type and a range of views on seats at http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-n...sion-deux.html

However, my preferences are as follows:

ATR72 - 01A/B/C/D if there are no rapid exit requirements as it is quieter, and no-one in front to recline into me. I have no 'under the seat in front of me' storage requirements. If for some reason I need to dash, then row 12 or 13 - near the back.

Q300 - 01D. Can't select this row until near departure (48 hours? and then it opens up). Second is 01B. 1A is avoid at all costs! No comment on other seats as I have always scored 01B or 01C. Forward aisle as a generalisation.

1900D. What can I say.....nothing? I try and avoid the prop-line - the F-27s I used to fly were reinforced in this area for good reason - shedding of ice from the blades made quite a thump on the fuselage - serious failure would be much worse of course, including uncontained turbine failure. so that rules out rows 2-4.

I guess row 5, 6 or 7. I recall the wing spar is a hassle for one of these rows.

cheers, TK
