Since this is morphing into an Ek vs CX in J thread, heres my two bits (Im NOT talking about F) :
(1) CX business seat is much better than EK on any longhaul. It is FLAT and wide. Makes for a good sleep. Loads of storage. No middle seat ever.
(2) IF you get the right cabin crew then CX service is classy, much better than EK If not, its the same quality as EK on the 777. On the 380 EK service is slow and they need to do something about it, but its not for lack of staff effort. CX has no 380 so no comparison point.
(3) IF you get one of the more imaginative menus CX food trumps EK. Its better cuisine, quality, style, presentation, the works.. On the other hand if you dont the food can be very unimaginative... and theres an obsession with serving breakfast at odd hours eg 2 hours before a 2030 landing at JFK. EK has a more consistent Longhaul food offering. Wines are about the same not so good). Spirits are better on EK.
(4) EK has the better IFE and amenity kits. Full stop. No question
Id still go for CX over EK on hard product and the access to the first class lounge that my BA gold card brings me. On soft product EK is more consistent and therefore generally better, but CX on a good day is a more classy product than EK, for sure.
