You are likely arriving at the South Satellite Terminal where immigration is located.

What airline is your connection with? I would plan on an hr for customs.

From South terminal you take a trains to connect to other parts of the airport.

This is false. All international arriving passengers must go through TSA security after customs before being allowed airside in any USA airport, with the exception of precleared flights, for example from Canada and Ireland.
