It depends on your nationality, you may need a transit visa for Dubai.
If you are a US citizen, then you shouldn't have a problem.
You also could show the DL check-in agent your AI ticket and ask if he/she would put your baggage through to your final destination.
Though, there's no guarantee of that.
Both DL and AI operate out of T1 at DXB.
