Ring them up, tell them what you want (new flight numbers, flying on Thai, etc) and ask. It will cost them the best part of £1k if they don't reroute you do they do have an incentive.

1) Yes they will accommodate you. Now you can either contact BA to find out what they have lined up for you, or you can sort yourself out. The first option may turn into the second (phone agents tend to have limited information about this area), so personally I'd just find some reasonably priced 4 star accommodation and charge it to BA. 2) For the onward connection from London, you may want to think that one through yourself - and when they rebook you ask to be kept in First. If you are held in London then there is a well oiled process to get you a hotel. If they don't tell you in BKK, go to Flight Connections customer services at the northern top of the arrivals hall and they'll give you the vouchers.

Oh) Yes you may be eligible for compensation, but it would depend on the precise circumstances. Broadly speaking if this was under BA's control and not forseeable then you may be eligible for EU261 compensation.

Personally I takes these things on how the airline treats me. If they look after me well then I tend not to worry about Oh) but that's a personal stance. Good luck, and hard lines over the hassle.
