My girlfriend and I took the same flights on ET in April this year.
My miles posted within a week.
Her miles did not post.
After 6 weeks, we mailed off her original boarding passes and ticket receipts.
A month later, we received the following email.
Your claim for missing flights will be credited into your account as soon as we get the necessary confirmation from the related airline.
Thank you for choosing Turkish Airlines on your flights.
Another month later, we received the following email.
The flight you have claimed dated 05/06/2012 and flight numbered ET0610 from ADD to BOM cannot be credited to your Miles&Smiles account since your flight record could not be found in the related flight .
Of course, the reason they could not find this was that the flight date was wrong. We had flown in April, not June.
So I emailed them again to tell them this. Another month later, the response.
You need to send your original boarding passes and the ticket copies to "Turk Hava Yollari B Kapisi Contact Center Binasi Musteri Iliskileri Mudurlugu 34149 Yesilkoy/Istanbul" in order to earn mileage credit for flights flown on our Program Partner Airlines.
So I responded to advise that I couldn't send them the original boarding passes again because I had already sent them the original boarding passes. I attach a scanned copy of the boarding passes and ticket.
Another month passes and we receive the following response.
According to Miles&Smiles program rules, codeshare flights that operated with other StarAlliance airlines are credited into membership accounts with the flight code of the operated airline. Thereby, the missing ET flights will be credited into your account after the inquiry from the related airline.
Two more weeks and the following response.
Your claim for missing ETHIOPIAN AIRWAYS flights will be credited into your account as soon as we get the necessary confirmation from the related airline.
And then finally, on 25 October, the following.
Your flight from Addis Ababa to Mumbai with Ethopian Air, ET0610 on 06.04.2012 has been credited into your Miles&Smiles account.
You have earned 2383 status miles for the related flight.
It only took 202 days to post in the end.
