My wife and I are thinking of going there for a few nights in early May. A few questions:

1. We'd either be going to the hotel from the airport or returning to the Barcelona airport from the hotel. We probably won't rent a car, at least not for our whole time there. What is the best way of getting to and from the airport from the hotel without a car? Anyone know how much a taxi might cost? Is there a decent train connection?
2. Same questions as above, except coming from or going to Barcelona itself.
3. If we wanted to rent a car just for a day to explore the wine country nearby, any sense of whether that's possible at the hotel?
4. Is the sea warm enough to swim in that time of year?
5. Any recommendations on rooms/areas of the hotel to request or stay away from, assuming we don't get a Plat upgrade?
