I am going to India via Dubai from US and have 2 flight options :-

1. Emirates Airlines via Dubai and they are I am taking a layover of 5 nights while coming back to US from India in Dubai. All itinerary including 5 nights layover via emirates Airlines and its very expensive option. Emirates is issuing the whole ticket.

2. As previous option even though simpler as whole journey is on Emirates and no need to check in and check out bags is very expensive , I did some research and found an alternate option.

US-Dubai-US on Delta and I found a separate Air India a flight which connects me from Dubai back to India and vice versa. To clarify I am buying 2 totally separate tickets 1 from Delta (US to Dubai) and from Air India from (Dubai to India).

Option # 2 is very cheap as compared to 1 and I understand that I need to check in and check out my bags as DXB as onward journey is only till DXB on Delta , but I have a few doubts as in is it allowed to break your journey like this on an airport as I have separate bookings from 2 different airlines and will I face any issues?
