This is for US rooms. I recall that the SPG site only indicated the number of adults traveling and only recently added the option to indicate the number of children under 17. At almost every hotel/resort property we have stayed at I have NEVER been charged extra for my two minor age children.

I do agree with you that I could book the award nights with just 2 guests and show up with my 2 minor age children but having a statement that specifically states maximum of "2 Guests" rather than "2 Adults" per room for award travel is troubling. The room is available for 2 adults and 2 children for cash bookings but if they now restrict award bookings to only 2 guests that would be very disappointing.
