Bangkok has gotten a lot more expensive in the last few years - I'm there quite often seeing family (when I'm alone I stay at "home" but when my partner comes, we usually stay at a hotel). Last year, we lucked out doing BRG at the SGS for 3200 bahts (or close to that) but this year, we're still debating where to stay, the SGS is a little more convenient (since "home" is out that way (Ekamai)) and SGS treatment for SPG Platinums is spectacular but I'm more tied to Hyatt so we'll see - probably the GH since we can use one night on the CC annual retention (since it is still a category 4).

Dining out has gone up a lot in Bangkok also.
