I've been looking at Iberia Plus (now avios) and am completely confused. Essentially my parents have roughly 19,000 avios each and would like to gift them to me hopefully giving me 38,000 avios. I had hoped that we could set up a BA avios household account and transfer them all together but unfortunately this doesn't seem to work. Are there any other mechanisms to help us achieve this?

Also, these avios will expire in a month. Is there a way to save them, or, alternatively, is it the case that I have to travel within a month from now or simply book my flight before the expiry?
