When I want low rates in Bangkok and I am working super long hours, I stay at the aLoft which is 1999 THB many times.
When Ms. Travelsig travels with me- Grand Hyatt, Four Seasons, or SGS are the three most used properties. I like the Four Seasons a lot however some people do not- and to get a really nice room you need to book Premier category which is unusual to find at less than 12K a night (keep in mind that 12K is 300 EUR which would get you a shoebox or closet at maybe a 4* if you are very lucky in other world large cities such as New York, London, Tokyo, Milan etc).
