Recently had another short stay here. Some thoughts to share:
- Booked airport inbound transfer with the property, but this time was not greeted upon arrival, nor was there a bellman to even open the door. Walked to the elevators, up to the club and checked in there. Previously, I've been checked in at my room as well as greeted upon arrival with each stay. Not a positive development.
- Found the Grand Club evening canapés to be quite plentiful and delicious as usual. They really go over the top with the selection, although it seems to be a bit smaller in overall variety than I previously remember over the past 18 months.
In my experience, I've been greeted upon arrival and brought to my room to check in only when I'm staying in a suite (using the Diamond upgrade). When I stay in a regular room, nobody's there to greet me. I always use the hotel car every time I stay here and I've been noticing this is the practice. Although strangely the driver will always make a phone call as we near the hotel, most likely to let them know that I'm coming but never there is someone to meet me when I don't stay in a suite.
My last stay was last month and I also noticed subtle menu changes for breakfasts and evening cocktails at the GC. But overall I still think it is one of the best clubs in the system.
