A quick update.

I spoke to Virgin today; they are in the process of negotiating the permanent use of a 3rd party lounge at Mumbai.

In the meantime your UC ticket or Gold card will gain access to (as previously suggested) the Clipper lounge (with no showers)

However - you can also access the Celebrations lounge which apparently does have the required facilities. ^
