In my experience it is 30min before departure, later if the incoming flight gets delayed. They can make up time in that case. The only time I've had boarding before 30min is on the first flight of the day, sometimes they start boarding even 40min ahead of departure time (got to the gate once at T-20 and they were already calling my name).
