Yes, but when you extrapolate those statistics over the number of trips and miles actually taken in the same time period, it has less of an injury and fatality rate than driving your own automobile on the same route, on average. It's all relative.
If you search on the DOT website, they are higher in those categories that other carriers (Greyhound for example).
Not saying it is more dangerous than driving yourself, but higher risk than other carriers.
