Most airlines before they open the flight will review all comments/notes for it, to ensure they accommodate all families or needs/requests by passengers.

Being an Etihad Guest (loyalty program) will give you an advantage if your flight is full of infants and families requesting bulkhead seats.

I'd call 72 hours before departure to re-confirm the request, and -as hard it is- try to check-in early if the flight is a long-haul one.I'd rather wait at the airport few hours rather than hold a baby in my arms for over 7 hours.
