I figured it might be doable since I'm in First on both planes. Both are mainline aircraft and I'm quite familiar with DTW. Besides, it would be a LOT cheaper to SDC if I choose than to have booked First on the flights I would have preferred when I purchased. So, for me it was a strategic choice. What my wife and I didn't know then though is that the earliest flight out of DTW the next day wouldn't get me to DCA in time. I would have thought they would have had a departure around 6:00 or 6:30 AM. Instead, the earliest departure out of DTW isn't until 7:35 AM.
