A380 and 747 cabin temperature

Wondering if there might be any 'insider' advice on how flexible the regulation of cabin temperature is on the A380 in particular and maybe newer 747s.

I'm usually in J, sometimes upgrade myself to F on the A380 to LAX, otherwise in J upper deck on the 747s.

A number of times by mid flight I have found the cabin to be noticeably warm, even hot. Particularly in F. Notwithstanding that this is as a personal thing, a couple of times I got the courage to mention it to a FA, and once they did immediately agree that it was hot, and they adjusted something and the difference was felt soon thereafter. Other times I have overheard other passengers making mention of it to FAs.

I would have felt that cabin temp, after any ground effects had worn off, would be "standard" and self regulating (ie to take account of amount of electronics in use etc).

Can anyone say that cabin temp is manually adjustable by the cabin crew from flight to flight, or if its, as I thought it should be, 'standard' and self regulated to a certain temperature (which would be?) ?
