I assume that £1300 fare is to BKK, which isn't great if you're trying to get to SIN....

You might want to consider foregoing all usable miles (for the time being, anyway - open a QR account as they'll be in OneWorld soon) and looking at Qatar as they tend to offer KUL for around £1700 in J.
