As ArthursSeat said as long as it is on one ticket you should be fine. ( You may want to print out the page from the website and take it with you as the EDI staff are outsourced to Aviance ( but they have been good IME)

It is slightly worrying that BA Customer service staff appear to be giving out incorrect information.
