If MCE is advertised as providing 4-6 extra inches of legroom, this means that 3 rows only need 12-18 inches to satisfy this promise. AA took out the equivalent of 32 inches. Let's say AA went with 4 inches (now 36" pitch) and therefore had a leftover of 20 inches. They could then take this and distribute it to the 5 rows of F/J to have a 62-64" pitch. This might be sufficient to adjust the recline to go full-flat or at least closer to full-flat (previous threads have indicated AA's seats have this capability but just don't have enough pitch to allow them to go full flat). This might be an interesting idea to bridge the gap in AA's product between today and the new seats sometime in the future (and more importantly for the 763s that won't receive the new J seats).
For NGBC to go to full flat, they need more like 2 feet extra of pitch, or to angle the seats so they are not facing directly forwards (as the new ones will be and the current flagship seats are).
