The thought of Vancouver being 17 hours behind Seoul is daunting. But another way of looking at it is Seoul and Vancouver are only 7 time zones apart--looking at the other direction. The same is true with Tonga and America Samoa, the latter being 24 hours behind the former but in reality they are located in the same time zone separated by international date line.
